One last
broadcast.
Until next
season.
By Jan-Michael Reyes / 85 Visuals
I was excited to go live for the United Grid League finals. But knowing this was our last broadcast before the offseason made me want to take it all in a little more.

One more time,
live.
A finals match gives you plenty to be excited about. The season has led to this moment, and our job is to help the people watching from home feel connected to it.
For this championship between the Fort Lauderdale Lions and Southwest Florida Sharks, I got to do what I love: work with my crew and bring the competition to the screen in real time. It’s the kind of work that keeps me fully present, even with the thought of the offseason in the back of my mind.
A finish worth
celebrating.
The Southwest Florida Sharks took the 2026 championship with a 19–17 win over the Fort Lauderdale Lions, securing back-to-back titles. Congratulations to the Sharks—and respect to both teams for the work that brought them to the final.

The people
behind it.
Brody Hodges and Aren Rosales were on cameras, Zach Janzer was our production assistant, and Roberto Rivera handled camera switching. I was the line director, also running audio, commercials, and graphics. Everyone had a different part to play in bringing the broadcast together.
Taylar Stallings and Cassie Martinez were on commentary. We also worked alongside Ruby George and her brother, Mather Wiswall, who ran the event. Evan Stout was away with family, and Zach stepped in for this event. I’m thankful to everyone who helped us close out the season. When I look back on these productions, the people are a big part of what I remember.

Something built
over time.
Ruby and Mather founded what began as Florida Grid League in 2017. The league adopted the United Grid League name in 2024 as it expanded nationally. Getting to contribute to that story through 85 Visuals makes being part of the broadcast feel especially meaningful.

Already knowing
I’m going to miss it.

Until next
season.
I’m looking forward to catching my breath and reflecting on what we can bring into next season. But I’ll miss having the next match on the calendar, working alongside the crew, and being caught up in the excitement of a live broadcast.
That’s the bittersweet part. You’re proud to have finished the season, and you wish you could do it all again a little sooner.
To everyone who was part of this finals production, thank you. I’m grateful we got to close it out together.
Keep watching.
Stay with the Grid.
